Secret #4: How Perspective Can Change Your Dating Reality

Research has shown that people are more likely to realize opportunity when their mind is actually open to that opportunity. A recent study followed two different men on their way to a coffee shop. A 20 dollar bill was placed on the route the two men would take to the coffee shop. The first man, who believed he was an unlucky person, walked straight to the coffee shop, stepping over the dollar bill, ordered his coffee, and waited for it while looking at his phone and not engaging with others, and rated his day as uneventful. The second man, who considered himself lucky, took the same route. He immediately spotted the twenty dollar bill, and when he got to the coffee shop, struck up a conversation with the cashier and people around him. He left the coffee shop feeling lucky and happy.

When we believe what we want is out there, we are more open to possibilities that come our way, and are more likely to feel motivated to find those people, and are more likely to let go of what’s not working. So often, people who are in relationships hang on because they can’t imagine people out there are better than what they have.

So, would you be willing to let go of what’s not working for you and open your mind to the idea that there is someone great for you out there this week?

This one mindset shift – from there are “no good ones out there,” to “there are plenty of fish in the sea” might help open your eyes to the fish you’re looking to attract. They could be right under your nose!

Love Lesson: Take a few moments today to close your eyes and feel your heartbeat. Envision what it would feel like to be loved by your perfect partner. Allow yourself to rest in this feeling and this possibility. Do this a few times this week or every morning if you feel inspired. Keep the feeling of possibility alive!

See you next week on Secrets Of A Matchmaker: Secret #4.
